Cynar

An Italian, bittersweet, herbal liqueur composed of 13 herbs, roots, and dried fruits. One of the main ingredients is the artichoke, hence the name of this drink – Cynara scolymus, the Latin name for the artichoke. It has 16.5% alcohol by volume. Thanks to its refreshing, herbal, bittersweet qualities, as well as its moderate alcohol content, Cynar is ideal as both an aperitivo and an amaro, a drink that aids digestion after a meal.
