Hendrick's
Hendrick's Gin is a perfect example of how the best ideas don't have to be the biggest. Handcrafted in 450-liter batches, a small batch being considered 1,000 liters. This allows the distiller to have greater control over the entire process.
Hendrick's is distilled using 11 unique botanicals from around the world, including Poland, and the production process is unparalleled. What's remarkable is that distillation takes place simultaneously in two different stills, using completely different methods. In one, the Bennett, the ingredients are combined with grain alcohol and crystal-clear water from William Grant & Sons' private Penwhapple reservoir, and heated. The second, the Carter-Head, extracts the unique flavor notes using steam. The heated chamber of the still contains only grain alcohol and water from Penwhapple, while the botanicals are suspended in a special basket in a column that conducts the alcohol vapors to a condenser. The bold, expressive distillate from the first still is then combined with the second, an exceptionally delicate and balanced distillate, in closely guarded proportions.
