2020: Digital Marketplace for Side Streams – Development of the Circado Platform

EIT Food Digital Marketplace for Side Streams is an EIT Food project aimed at enabling companies worldwide to easily find by-products from various production processes. To facilitate the seamless exchange of information between recipients and suppliers of by-products, the project developed a platform Circado (https://www.circado.io/).

Circado Platform enables:

– getting to know suppliers and recipients of by-products from around the world,

– publication of posts about the demand and availability of by-products,

– obtaining information on the composition of a given by-product – detailed analysis of a specific by-product,

– easy search for valuable ingredients contained in by-products,

– purchasing a given by-product.

When registering on the Circado platform, you can choose between registering as a buyer or supplier of by-products. To provide as much data as possible about the by-product being sold, the supplier sends samples to Circado's partner laboratories, and the results are published along with the announcement. This solution allows potential buyers (recipients) to make purchasing decisions based on detailed qualitative data.
