Development of a highly effective and flexible technology for processing a wide range of agri-food products to obtain high-quality vegetable preserves.

Project carried out in cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Development under the Smart Growth Operational Programme for 2014-2020, Axis Support for R&D work by enterprises; Measure: R&D projects of enterprises; Sub-measure: Industrial research and development work carried out by enterprises.
The project's goal is to develop a process innovation in the form of a flexible vegetable processing technology encompassing the following sub-processes: raw material washing, spice dosing, automated dosing of Class I and Class II cucumbers, pickles, liquid and thick products, pasteurization, and quality control of raw materials and finished products. The project's outcome will represent a process innovation on a scale of the Polish and even international markets.
The economic goal of the project is to achieve a number of advantages, including more effective and efficient execution of unit operations. This will translate into improved production efficiency, maximized utilization of the existing infrastructure, reduced utility consumption, improved working conditions for operators, and a significant reduction in product quality defects. Implementation of the project will meet the company's needs for maximizing the economics of its operations, as well as the end users' needs for a high-quality range of processed vegetables.
The technological innovations developed, consisting in replacing existing production lines with a single new one, will be used in production under the Company's flagship brand – Krakus, which will offer, among others, pickled products, pickled cucumbers in various brines and other pickled vegetables, vegetable mixes, horseradish- and beetroot-based products, soups, broths and concentrates, and tomato products.
