#AnnualFoodAgenda Q2 2020

In the second quarter of 2020, activities within the #AnnualFoodAgenda project will take place online

Building conscious consumer attitudes, improving eating habits among children and young people, and promoting trends in the agri-food market – these are the ambitions pursued by scientists from the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn and experts from the Maspex food company as part of the international EIT Food #AnnualFoodAgenda project.

This season, the #AnnualFoodAgenda project is moving online. As part of an educational campaign conducted by the Mill of Knowledge Innovation Center in Toruń, scientists have prepared a series of unique infographics dedicated to healthy eating, food safety, innovations related to food production, and efficient waste management. We'll examine topics such as food allergies, gluten-related diseases, antioxidants, and prebiotics. We'll discover the secrets of the Japanese diet and the valuable nutrients found in locally available vegetables and fruits. We'll learn how to prepare gluten-free meals and utilize these microscopic powerhouses in our kitchens. We'll also find tips on how to avoid food waste and interesting facts about baked goods.

You can follow the campaign on Facebook on the profile Institute and Mill of Knowledge Modernity Center .

On the other hand June 30 at 6:00 PM A webinar on food and nutrition trends is planned!

Trends in food and nutrition have changed over the years. To familiarize consumers with the trends currently shaping the global food market, and thus our daily diets, Maspex, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn, and Biotechnologia.pl are organizing a webinar that will provide participants with a substantial dose of knowledge in a nutshell. This joint initiative is part of the #AnnualFoodAgenda project (www.annualfoodagenda.com), funded by the EIT Food community. As part of this project, since the beginning of 2019, campaigns have been taking place to raise public awareness of healthy eating, food safety, food production innovations, and the proper management of food waste. The #AnnualFoodAgenda project is being implemented in three European Union countries: Poland, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

"Trends in Food and Nutrition" is the topic of this webinar, which will be presented to participants from two perspectives: that of a scientist and that of a dietitian. Do food trends shape our shopping carts? Or perhaps the shopping cart shapes trends? How do they fit into the concept of "food systems"? Dr. Michał Janiak from the Polish Academy of Sciences Institute of Nutrition in Olsztyn will discuss the information needed to answer these questions. Dietitian Agnieszka Piskała-Topczewska will then share selected food trends with participants and explain interesting trends in nutrition, representing a dietitian's perspective. A Q&A session will be held at the end of the webinar.

Participation in the webinar is free. Registration is required.
