Purcari Wineries is one of the largest producers of wine and brandy in the Central and Eastern European region. According to its 2024 annual report, Purcari manages over 2,000 hectares of vineyards and operates six wineries across Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria: Purcari, Crama Ceptura, Bostavan, Bardar, Domeniile Cuza, and Angel’s Estate. The company has been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since February 2018. Maspex Romania, a company belonging to the Maspex Group, completed the procedures of a voluntary public takeover bid on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, aiming to purchase Purcari Wineries’ shares. At the closure of the public offer, more than 71 % of the shares were subscribed by the existing shareholders, according to the information provided by the intermediary of the public offer, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale S.A. This means that, after fulfilling all the usual regulatory conditions, Maspex will take control of Purcari Wineries.
Maspex Romania has finished the procedures for subscription on the shares of Purcari Wineries, through a voluntary public offer. Once the transaction is completed, Maspex will hold in total over 72% of Purcari’s shares (considering also the 1.62% stake in Purcari that Maspex already held before subscription).
