One of the aims of the workshop is to explain to the participants that a healthy diet consists of eating the right amount of nutrients such as proteins, fats, carbohydrates (including fibre), vitamins and minerals. In addition, the workshop will provide students with knowledge about common food research. During the workshop, there will also be time for unconventional learning about food and healthy eating while solving puzzles in an Escape Room game. At the end of the workshop, participants will take part in a quiz assessing their understanding of the information presented earlier.

The aim of the materials prepared for the students was to present simple principles of healthy eating, as well as ways of leading a healthy lifestyle from an early age. Knowledge of age-appropriate foods and the basic principles of a balanced diet are key to building children’s confidence in food. Often the omission of certain groups of products results from mistakenly associating them as untrustworthy or causing weight gainm for example, while the key to proper nutrition is precisely the ability to compose a balanced diet containing various food products. Knowing the role of individual food ingredients and the principles of healthy eating will contribute to a better understanding by children of the impact of nutrition on their health.

Thanks to the cooperation with the management and the teaching staff of selected schools, the materials will reach the students, and thanks to the attached questionnaire, we will learn the opinions of the children, which will help us to develop further doses of knowledge for them. The events and educational materials developed are part of the #AnnualFoodAgenda project (www.annualfoodagenda.com) funded by the EITFood community (https://www.eitfood.eu/).
